How to become fast, technically superior and master of the steering?

January 18, 2019, Nairobi, Kenya---There are selected schools in the world which provide world class European and Africa rally style driving skills including the infamous “Scandinavian Flick”. The coaches are professional rally drivers and they will teach you at high speeds on how to slide a car using the handbrake around tight hairpins, utilize left-foot braking, improve your driving in both on and off-road scenarios. They will also teach you how to handle every day driving hazards, to avoid accidents, and potentially save lives.

1: TAPIO LAUKKANEN RALLY SCHOOL, OUT AND ABOUT, KENYA INCLUDED

There is only one rally professional trainer in Kenya, Tapio Laukanen of Finland who trained compatriot Kimi Raikonen in his formative years before joining Formula One to become F1 World Champion in 2007.

His past and present students in Kenya are Manvir Baryan (Africa champion), Jaspreet Chatte (former Africa champion), Peter and Alex Horsey and now Kabras racing team. And previously Uganda Emmanuel Kato among others.

There are courses for ice, gravel and tarmac racing
You will drive a Subaru R5 (the second tier racing machine after a WRC car), serious coaching, techniques, written material, knowledge in car setting. 3: RALLY PROMOTION FINLAND

Their gravel rally school season begins in late April as snow melts and rally roads get dryer. Rally Schools driven on gravel roads last until end of October in Finland. You can choose one of their three Subaru WRX STi rally cars or RWD BMW 325i for rally training. Their cars are real rally cars, not just "driving experience" level prepared. You can send enquiry to : jarkko@rallysport.fi.

You are welcome alone or with a bigger group.
Have you ever wanted to try modern WRC 2 level rally car? They offer rally
test sessions with Hyundai R5 on snow and gravel.

Main instructor is Jarkko Miettinen who has driven over 100 races worldwide and he has been a rally coach for over 15 years.

Jarkko Miettinen has been coaching in Mexico, Latvia, Romania, China, Kenya, Estonia, and Italy

Sometimes it is good to start a bit slower and then speed up on the second day

It is good to combine rear wheel drive BMW with much faster 4WD Subaru, if you don’t have any experience of rally driving. With rear wheel drive you have more time to realise what you should do and listen to instructors advice. After warm up day, it is then much easier to master driving the Subaru.

Rally School includes theory lesson 45min, introduction to equipment and circuit, all necessary safety equipment, personal coaching, rally driving at forest rally stage, personal feedback and diploma. During the course you will learn basics of rally driving with RWD and 4WD rally cars. They will introduce basics of pace notes and use them while driving on second day.
This program is suitable for everyone who is interested in motorsports.

Rally lessons can be tailored according each customer's wishes. You can choose any car from their fleet, for as many days as you wish.
