Car 1. OGIER/INGRASSIA
“Even worse…”
Car 33. EVANS/MARTIN
Talking about his third stage retirement. “Just coming to the end of a fast section, there
was a stone that was sticking out more into the road than I anticipated. Unfortunately, we
clipped it with the front right wheel and it was enough to break the suspension quite
badly.”
Car 11. NEUVILLE/WYDAEGHE
19 seconds slower than his first pass. “Quite destroyed to be honest. The ruts are really
deep. You are bottoming all the time. Our cars are not high enough for these conditions.
There is no way to push in these conditions.”
Car 8. TÄNAK/JÄRVEOJA
Stalled in the stage. “Strange, it was very rough. Every hairpin is stalling now. What’s
happening guys..?”
Car 69. ROVANPERÄ/HALTTUNEN
“That sounds not so bad (rally leader). I was still really careful going over the ruts and I
find a good feeling. The dust is still a big problem in the car. I cannot breath properly.”
Car 18. KATSUTA/BARRITT
“I try to stay on the road without any damage on the car.”
Car 44. GREENSMITH/PATTERSON
Short delay leaving service while some settings were changed on the Fiesta. “We got
some time penalty out of service. The guys have done as best they can to bodge it. If it
fails we have to stop. Let’s see.”
Car 2. SOLBERG/JOHNSTON
Managed to finish the first loop in 15th place after technical issues that also cost 4min
50sec in time penalties. But the son of former World Champion Petter Solberg retired after
the fourth special with broken rear-right suspension and reported damage to the i20’s roll
cage and chassis.
Car 37. BERTELLI/SCATTOLIN
Retired in SS4 with mechanical problems.
